10 Jun 2025 – After three days of being inside the huts at Grímsfjall, the team woke up to much calmer weather. During breakfast, it became clear that this would be the day to leave Grímsfjall behind and travel off the ice cap.

Whilst most of the personal belongings were already packed, many other tasks needed to be completed before departure. From cleaning the hut to packing all the equipment, each person had a task to prepare for departure.

Although the wind gusts were much lower than before, still travelling across the ice caps was challenging, with cars getting stuck, low visibility, loose tyres and a leakage of the power steering fluid.

At the edge of the glacier, it became clear that one car could not be used further and was towed to the truck. The rest of the travels were without problem and after pizza for dinner, the team arrived back in Reykjavík at 2 am.
